Training is a critical aspect to having a well behaved canine companion. Dogs do not train themselves and while genetics play a roll, it’s much more important that your puppy gets the best start. We recommend at minimum a basic obedience class for all of our puppies. Below are several great options that we and our clients have had success with.

The Respectful Dog – One of our wonderful partners is a great local trainer that offers board and train options as well as individual in-person sessions. Take the stress out of the process and send your puppy away for several weeks to get the basics under their belt. Or if you want to invest in even more obedience, her training options are endless! We can even arrange temperament testing for specific needs and have your puppy transition directly to Summer’s care before coming home to you! Looking for a service animal or emotional support dog? Summer can ensure the puppy you select will be an excellent candidate. Contact Summer Mowry at the Respectful Dog today!

If you are on a budget or want a more DIY at-home approach to training we recommend the following alternative options that use positive reinforcement methods:

Tom Davis on YouTube. We really like this trainer’s approach and he has lots of free and easy to follow videos!
