Fox Run Farm initially began breeding chihuahuas in 2005 when Claire became involved in 4-H and with the goal of showing her chihuahua’s in-hand. However, as Claire grew her family, it was evident that the fragile breed was not the most appropriate choice.
Claire found that the small toy breeds were delicate, difficult to raise and susceptible to injury around small children. So Claire and Lynn set out to find an ideal breed that had the quality that families with children desired most; a good temperament and sturdy build. After a significant amount of research, they purchased their first French Bulldog in 2009. The French Bulldog was selected because of it’s sweet and friendly nature, minimal exercise needs, suitability for smaller spaces, ideal for new pet owners, and sturdy solid builds that tolerated children well. Claire successfully raised several healthy French Bulldog litters.

Several years later, Claire met her husband Michael. Michael grew up in a more rural area and his family partook in activities such as hunting and fishing. Michael also always had a dog growing up and always enjoyed a canine companion. But as much as Michael appreciated Claire’s attraction to the bulldogs, he longed for a more trainable and active family member. That is when the Clements family started discussing adding another breed to their small program. They again began to research and set their sights on another well known family dog; the Golden Retriever. However, Michael had experienced some mild allergies around the bulldogs, enough so that Claire worried about his tolerance to higher-shedding breeds. So in 2013 they purchased their first Goldendoodle who their son lovingly named “Fifi”. The Clements have been raising happy and well-adjusted French Bulldogs and Goldendoodles ever since.
